Summer Garden Party with BBQ or buffet lunch followed by cream tea

Saturday 21st August at 12.30 p.m. onwards

This event has been very popular over the last few years with over 50 attending last year.

It will be a party with a difference:- a Fancy Dress Pageant with a theme - international costume. The prerequisite for all attending will be at least a token attempt to meet the dress code - suggestions: Mexican Sombrero, Sarong - for the Beckham's amongst you or even a pair of clogs that some of you Gen. X's may have in the closet. There will be a prize for the best costume and act.

Cost: £4.00 payable in advance - Book early to avoid disappointment

October 16th - English Ceilidh (lively Barn Dance)

at Southbourne Village Hall, near Chichester 7.30 pm - 11.00pm

Barn Dance

Normally we have between 40 - 50 people at this event.

English Ceilidhs are different from Discos or other popular types of dance in that they are very interactive and you can have a go without feeling silly and can help to keep you fit. You don't even have to be a natural dancer. The emphasis is on enjoying yourself and on having fun.

We ask everyone to bring a dish. The item to bring is stated on the ticket (we end up with a feast) and I nearly forgot - something to drink - Barn Dances are thirsty work!

The interval provides a great opportunity to get introduced to new friends and renew old aquaintances as well as having a good knosh up.

We are very lucky to have John Shakespeare from the West Midlands to call for us. He has a great style and some pretty cool music to dance to (thankfully not that 'um-pah, um-pah' sound!)

On these occasions we have people coming from as far away as Dorset and Brighton, well, even as far as London.

A great occasion to get linked up and have some fun!

Tickets £5 (to cover the hall hire and John's expenses.)

The address for the Southbourne Village Hall is:
Southbourne Village Hall, First Avenue, Southbourne PO10 8HN.
